Teachers’ workshop
During the activities the teachers will be divided on subgroups working specifically on one of the 3 topic of the European youth meeting of bologna 2009. The team will be responsible of supporting and training the teachers present at the European Youth Meeting thought workshop on the subject: “Active methods for teaching rights”. The teachers will attend the same outline as the students (Dignity and Freedoms, Equality and Solidarity, Citizens’ rights and Justice), with an extra attention to the role of School in the development of discussed topics and the role of Europe in the whole process. They will be supported in sharing their experience as teachers about the topics and their pedagogical approaches for developing these topics with young people in schools. The teachers group as whole has to produce a final document to be presented in the final event with their recommendation about the role of Europe in fostering the development of such topic within the framework of formal educational systems.
The teachers role will be also very important during the morning of the 27th of November, when they will support national groups in writing down a declaration of vote. The declaration of vote has to be short enough to be read in 2 minutes but it can also include some request of change inside the final test. These elements will be not real amendments but they will give the chance to the students to influence the all document and not only the paragraph of the final document dealing with the their specific topic (Dignity and Freedoms, Equality and Solidarity, Citizens’ rights and Justice). Delegates and trainers will try to include as much as possible to include these requests, respecting the work done during the sessions in Bologna, in order to reach the maximum representativeness of the final document.
