Equality and Solidarity

Schools that have chosen this topic have developed a preparatory work in last months before the event in Bologna. Teachers and their group of students have filled in a preparatory form, summarizing the results of the local confrontation, starting from the following definitions given from the organizers.

Equality: equality before the law, non-discrimination, cultural, religious and linguistic diversity, equality between men and women, rights of the child and of the elderly, and integration of persons with disabilities.

Solidarity: Workers’ right to information and consultation within the undertaking, right of access to placement services, protection in the event of unjustified dismissal, fair and just working conditions, prohibition of child labour and protection of young people at work, reconciliation of family and professional life, social security and social assistance, health care, environmental protection, and consumer protection.
